The Bankruptcy and Collection Enforcement Section represents the interests of the State in both bankruptcy matters and the collection of debts owed state agencies.


The Section is seeking an attorney with one of more years of experience representing clients in civil disputes.  Experience in the collection of debts, as well as the protection and enforcement of creditor rights and remedies is helpful.  The candidate will possess leadership skills that drive individual as well as team results, advanced problem-solving skills, a desire for challenging work in a changing environment, and a great attitude.


The candidate must be an outstanding communicator and will provide legal counsel to and support for a large number of state agencies.


Admission to and good standing with the Arizona State Bar is required (include on resume the date(s) of admission in Arizona and any other states).


Salary is commensurate with experience.  The State of Arizona offers a generous benefits package that includes vacation leave, sick leave, a top-ranked pension plan, and low cost medical, dental and vision insurance.

Title: Assistant Attorney General

The Criminal Division/Financial Remedies Section has one vacant full-time attorney position in the Phoenix office to work with experienced civil racketeering prosecutors to envision, design, plan and execute long term programs to accomplish law enforcement goals through civil remedies.  This position investigates and prosecutes racketeering, including fraud, white collar crime, money laundering, narcotics and other ongoing and organized criminal conduct. You will represent the State in civil litigation in the enforcement of the civil racketeering and forfeiture provisions of Arizona statutes, advising and assisting investigations, conducting civil discovery, drafting briefs and memoranda, and presenting evidence, briefs and argument to juries and courts. You will work as a member of a highly professional multi-disciplinary team of prosecutors, agents, analysts, computer specialists, property managers, paralegals and others to pursue investigative and prosecution programs and coordinate them with various law enforcement agencies and with criminal, civil and regulatory prosecutors at county, state and federal levels.

Candidates must have a minimum of three years of experience.  Preferred candidates will have complex civil litigation experience.

Qualifications:   A minimum of five years legal experience          including litigation experience. Strong preference given to candidates who have worked in legal services and/or demonstrated commitment to aggressive advocacy on behalf of low income people. Must be a member of the Arizona State bar or Rule 38 eligible.
 
Responsibilities: The manager is responsible for the day to day operation of the two attorney, two paralegal office located in Kingman, Arizona. In addition, the manager will be expected to take a leadership role in CLS's efforts to provide proactive advocacy, including litigationto attack the legal problems of the low-income community. The Manager will also take the responsibilty to supervise, evaluate and train staff; maintain relations between the office and the local bar and the community; coordinate intake of clients and caseload distribution; prepare initial draft of office budget and oversee expenditures.
